The men were gathered, and they spoke at length with Yrnhold and Rágn about the matter of war while Sif stood to the side, listening.

He didn't understand war, and disliked the thought of it. War had been what had taken his strange thing from him, after all, and if not for the kindness of some unknown force he would've perished alongside her.

There were a few of them opposed to it; why not just aid Calsar in driving the last of Caedwghe's bastards off? They had been driven from their own homes as children.

" For us to drive them from land they were promised would make us no matter than Caedwghe," Yrnhold said strongly. " They have already lost; and they were given that land on the other side of the Calmat so that they may have a place to live. A good leader does not renege on promises of treaty."

If Sif had to summarize his feelings about it, it would simply be that he didn't understand politics at all.

In the end, it was decided thus; that they would send a delegation to Calsar's people, and a delegation to Cwge, to speak with them all in person.
