When Nova went to the observation deck, to look out at the night sky, someone else was already there.

" Hey," Kirie said, her voice a bit soft. " William's out at dinner, isn't he."

" Yes," Nova said, sitting down a little bit away from her.

" You're not with him?" she asked.

" He took Sivira," Nova said.

Kirie, looking up at the sky, seemed melancholy. For a while, neither of them spoke.

" Nova," she said. " Are you ever scared that you won't be remembered after you're gone?"

" I'm not in a position where I have any right to be scared of anything," he said.

" I guess not," she replied. " ...It's not like you're the kind of the person that history forgets."

Nova very rarely spoke with Kirie on his own, and so he took a moment to regard her.

" I didn't take you to be a fearful person," he said.

She sort of half-laughed.

" Yeah," she said. " I'm just getting a little tired, I guess."

After a moment, she looked over at him, and then back at the stars.
